Morning all !

Wonderful day yesterday....very sunny and very warm ( bit too warm for me actually )

I spent the afternoon up in the hills, having a picnic near the Usk Reservoir.
It looked stunning ....blue skies, no wind and nice and quiet, apart from a few trout fishermen and their sons. They weren't not terribly pleased about the bright sunshine, as the fish dive down deep in weather like that.

The countryside looks at its best at this time of year. The hedgerows are stuffed full of wild flowers....masses of celandines and bluebells, and still a fair few primroses. All the trees are now coming to life again, and the blossom looked lovely.

Lots of bird activity, especially the swifts and the skylarks. There were a pair of Red Kites very active all afternoon. These kites are no longer the rarity that they used to be, thank goodness, but I never tire of watching them, as they wheel and dive. They were seriously peeing off a lone buzzard I noticed.

There were huge amounts of newborn lambs everywhere, as you would expect ! Also quite a few young foals.

On days like yesterday, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the world.
I am very lucky to have all this only 15-20 miles from my door.
