Easyjet Easy Boarding
I made a reservation for an elderly relative and as I wanted her
to travel as comfortably as possible I paid extra for 'easy boarding'.
I have since learned that in most cases there is a free-for-all at the
departure gate. Aren't the 'easy boarders' not called first and helped
in boarding the plane?
I would hate for her to be jostled and discomforted.
Any advice please.

Everyone is called to the gate at the same time but there will be two well signed queues both for checking in and boarding....she will use the one signed...Speedy Boarding....unless things have changed since last month!
As Islay says she can say she will need help boarding.....remember....they want to get loaded and in the air quickly....they will do what they can to make sure that happens.....☺
There is a website where you can look at a video of the boarding process which "should" put you at ease.....x

Remember she (or you) must provide "Advance Passenger Information" (details of passport etc) and print boarding passes before arriving at the airport.
If she has any checked baggage (hold luggage) then there is also a Speedy Boarding queue for that - it is much shorter and usually takes a couple of minutes instead of the usual longish queue.
If she has no checked baggage, then she should go straight to the security check entrance and show her boarding pass.

As a SB passenger, she will be entitled to take a small handbag onto the plane as well as her cabin bag - quite useful for managing passport/boarding-pass/purse etc.
I hope all the security faffing with liquids and gels etc won't faze her - remember that any necessary liquid or cream medicines can be put in a second plastic bag with a copy of the prescription if necessary.
