Shame this has ended, doesn't seem to have been on long. At the end there was a beautiful haunting song playing but I have no idea who it was and it wasn't listed in the credits. Any ideas?
I /we are sure the spitfire crash took out everyone in the doctors house. Maybe a survivor or two for the next series (guessing). The butcher's son ironically 'observed' it.
Sorry pips. I came over all emotional at the end and missed the haunting song so can't answer you :-(
I watched it last night on catch-up I think. There were 3 programmes I wanted to see.
May be if you went to catch-up and used shazam app,if you have it, it may identify it. Just a thought!

Certainly the last episode of the second series last night. Likewise 'The Durrels' which I enjoyed. Indian Summers penultimate episode was shown last night.
Plane crashed into doc's house, i think, but there didn't appear to be too much damage, so maybe all survive? Strange that, of all those whose livelihood is tied to the parachute factory, only two live in the village.
/// We know the Brindsleys' newborn has survived because Pat heard it cry from within the house. But did anyone perish in the pandemonium? Was excited dad-to-be Bryn killed, having been moved into the front room where the Spitfire seems to have crashed? ///
Strange that generally the last episode of a series clears up all the loose ends, but this one created more, which we will have to wait till next year to catch up once again.
I thought that Pat was deciding whether or not to try and rescue the pilot, or carry on in her chase to catch up on her leaving Czech lover.
Pips I don't know what that song was called, it was lovely, but you can buy the music from Home Fires on cd. It's only just been released so it might cost less in a while.
