in electing that cheat Neil Hamilton to become a WMP? Or rather the folk of Carmarthen East and Dinefwr have lost it?

Glad to see his knowledge of things Welsh is awful, despite having attended the Uni at Aberystwyth and being born in the Principality. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/politics/neil-hamilton-flunks-welsh-general-11301320

Good luck to those in Carmarthen in having an expenses cheat as your MP and also that fragrant and dreadful wife of his.

Imagine if Naomi, Jackdaw and AOG all stood on the party list for ISIS rules. The party has ranked us in the following order:

#1 Naomi
#2 Jackdaw
#3 AOG

If we are allocated one seat Naomi gets it.
If two seats, I get in as well.
If three seats, AOG is in.
Good Lord ! They're not using that undemocratic system surely ? Why would anyone put up with it.
The ISIS bit was tongue in cheek but you get the drift.
Jackdaw, if I have to wear a burka, forget it!! ;o)
...and, as I have pointed out elsewhere, they are not MWPs. The correct denomination is AM (Assembly Member) or, in Welsh, AC (Aelod Cynnulliad), in contrast to AS (Aelod Seneddol), Member of Parliament.
Naomi > Jackdaw, if I have to wear a burka, forget it!! ;o)

You wouldn't have to wear it religiously :)
Jack...."They would know because on the party list system candidates are ranked in order"

Only if they did their homework before voting, as that is not listed on any ballot paper in the Polling booth.
Yes of course Mikey is quite right. Even if you have sight of the list you are scarcely any better off. To know if candidate number 3 (or indeed any other) on the list will get a seat you have to know how many seats the party will be allocated. And you don't know that until after the result has been declared.

The Party List system is ideal for parties. It enables them to secure seats for the various wasterels, n'erdowells, scoundrels, and deadbeats among their number who would be unlikely to get a look in if they stood by name (as is witnessed by the Welsh result under discussion here). But it does nothing for the voters and is an affront to democracy.
