Microwave Combination Oven
4 Answers
I live with my husband and tend to cook a lot of food in the oven but sometimes it seems wasteful to heat a whole oven for a small item eg steak pie. I am thinking of buying a combined standard oven and microwave.Has anyone got one? or tried one? There seems to be a big difference in price,

We bought a small one as an impulse buy several years ago and liked it so much that we bought a slightly bigger one for home use and kept the small one for the caravan. The bigger ones come with an extension ring so that they are tall enough inside to take a chicken. We cook all our joints etc in it, unless we want, say, roast potatoes as well. Ideal for such things as sausage rolls and other snacky food.

I have had a panasonic combination oven for few years now and use it almost every day. Brilliant for defrosting , microwave and convection oven. The only thng i dont use it for is grilling. As this doesnt really do the job very well. I am not sure many if any combination ovens are very good at grilling if you read reviews. Mine has preprogrammed settings for jackets etc which are realky useful. I cant remember what i paid but looking at current models a similar one to mine would be this
