Ok, so, what the flip is this now, that keeps slipping on to the left side of screen, offering to search for apps, settings and documents on the web? Is it that irritating Cortana? Thought I'd seen the end of her when I managed to get shut of her annoying voice :/

You need to change the default printer to the one you actually have connected. Check the print settings in your word processor and in the printer setting from the start button.
