Employers Wanting Dbs Clearance Checks
I am currently looking for work within the Healthcare sector. I've been applying through nursing agencies and each one (not surprisingly) wants a DBS check.
The first agency set it up for me and I followed their link they sent me, got on to the CRB website and I filled out address details for the last 10 years and possibly other details but I've forgotten. The current status for this application is that the CRB have received the certificate. WHAT CERTIFICATE?
In the meantime other agencies are asking me to to stump up £44 for them to check my DBS. This is where I am flummoxed.
Surely I can send a copy of the original request. And if I can how do I go about it??
Because I am unemployed I can't afford £44 each time so I'm in a massive catch 22!

A DBS certificate becomes 'portable' (so that it's always up to date and can be instantly checked upon by other employers) if you pay £13 per year to subscribe to the DBS Update Service: https:// www. gov. uk/ dbs- update- service
