I'm stuck on # 1, 8, 12, 14, & 20 at the moment! I thought Ace Ventura Pet Detective might be #20, but Telewest and Filmflex (from which Telewest apparently gets its films) don't list it among their offerings, so it's not that...
Likewise, for #8, Filmflex doesn't stock "The Cricketer" so it can't be that. Please don't tell me it's Batman!?!?!?!?

I also considered Inspector Gadget, Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle, but none of them really make sense of the picture... I also wondered about Ace Ventura: Pet Detective - but it's not in FilmFlex's list of available films, so it can't be that one... *sigh*...
Space Jam I worked out about 3 minutes after posting the previous cry for help - and Batman, as you saw above, was dawning on me as I wrote. But the two which are still stumping me are 14 and 20... (rolls eyes) I bet we'll kick ourselves when we finally find them, in the manner of the best groan-inducing puns!!
I'll sjow you my list if you show me yours
Space Jam - Roman Holiday - Silence of the Lambs - Cocktail - I Married an Axe Murderer - Karate Kid (hence 20 being a kid not a gnu) - Star Wars - Batman - Grumpy Old Men - War of the Worlds - Blazing Saddles - 12 ?? - Pelican Brief - 14 ?? - Star Trek - 16 ?? - 17 ?? - Harry Potter - Horse Whisperer - Spy Kids (only one though where it should be plural) ??
This is driving me nuts as well
12 is Street Fighter. 16 Drugstore Cowboy. 17. Easy peasy! what sort of bear is it? And what's he holding in his hand? Yes, a coffee, but what sort? Go on.... No, not a capuccino... An e_______! So put the two together and....? Yes. It really is that ouchy!
Still hunting for 14. And still unconvinced about 20...!
Hi Jessiedog! Yes, and I suspect that #14 & #20 are equally ouch-puns... if we could only figure them out...
Re., Telewest's films: I searched Telewest's site, and found that their suppliers for all their films are Filmflex; www.filmflexmovies.com : hence I've been checking my guesses against their list of available titles... :-)
