It has always been sacred
BUT - that doesnt stop people climbing to the top of St Paul's [ being sacred I mean just in case people think mentioning St P is a non-sequitur]
nor does it stop people going to St Peter's square um in Rome [ I only put that in to stop people posting 'where dat ven?' ] and wandering up to the obelisk there and wondering if that was one of the monuments C Gallus put up to himself in 40 BC in Egypt (yes it was)
or looking at Notre Dame ( Paris this time not Urbana Ill) as gothic architecture and not a religious centre....
or using cemeteries to picnic in ( described by Plutarch but still goes on)
or using cemeteries to live in ( City of the Dead, Cairo )
or just about anything else
let us also remember that the dingo dog that really DID grab Lindy Chamberlain's baby Azariah ( and eat it ) had its lair half way up Ayer's Rock. see
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lindy_Chamberlain-Creighton
for those who are reflexly thinking to themselves - "Lindy hoo-berlain ? - who dat ven ? "
so Good bye Ayers Rock ..... EJ Thribb aged 17 (thanks to private eye)
