Hi.

A wall fence of 14m long to be built in my garden. Piers will be erected every 6ft. Trellis will be erected on top of the walls and between the piers.

Please inform me:

1) Is it best to built with thermalite 100mm blocks or 100mm cement blocks for strength and to test the time?

2) What is the maximum wall height I can go so it stays solid (does not lean or fall)?

3) Is it best to lay the blocks flat (8") or up (4") width?

4) What size pillar to built if laid flat (8")?

I have four boys who loves to play football so the wall has to stay strong as the boys might kick the ball in the wall.

Thank you.

I am fairly sure that anything over 6 feet is not allowed....particularly if you have neighbours... indeed someone has had to pull down theirs despite needing it to protect their son because it was over that height.
I can't help you with the practicalities of wall building I am afraid.
