I have a tuna steak that I defrosted and don`t now fancy. If I cooked it and froze it, would it be OK? I know that would be OK hygiene wise but I just wondered if it would be revolting when defrosted?

I'd give it a go.
Cannot see why it would be disgusting.
Frozen is never the same as freshly cooked, but I think ti would be OK.
Never done it, though.....
Is your avatar a picture of your cat? If so cook it and give him a treat,

Thanks. I don`t really want to waste it. I`d probably just mix it with some mayo and chilli and have it in a roll.

paddy - that`s my poor puss who died last December
If you are going to mush it up with mayo and chili (sounds great to me) then I am sure it will be OK.
I think it is texture that suffers from freezing more than flavour.
I'd suggest cooking it in something (such as a tuna pasta bake) and then freezing that.

Alternatively, your avatar suggests that you might know of a way to see your unwanted tuna quickly disappear ;-)
^^^ Oops, sorry, crossed posts. I didn't realise that your furry tuna-disposal unit is no longer around :(
Sorry to hear that 237SJ I hope I didn't upset you at all,I lost Max, my trusty G.S.D nearly five years ago but still use a mixture of his photos for an avatar
If you don't fancy it now, you most probably won't fancy it in future.Do you have a cat? (daft question,, looking at avatar!)
^^^ Sorry, just read all posts. Apologies. J x
