I need help with one clue please. " its county towns include Cairo,Ottowa, Paris and Vienna" I have I?A?O which suggests Idaho. But I tried Googling to confirm ( my intimate knowledge of the USA isn't good enough!) but the state which meets this set of county towns is Illinois, according to them. Do any of you know any better please?

Google Earth didn't find "Ottawa, Idaho" but showed results for the other 3 names, even though only "Paris" is a County Town.

'Idaho' fits the pattern, so I'd go with it & assume setter's error, though as you asked, I too would be interested if anyone knows better :-)

After I closed down, I suddenly had this reaction: if the great Lie- in King ( and I see just how much help you give others!) needs confirmation, there's hope for me. Daft but it is how I felt
