He'd have made more of a point had he known where to draw the line. Tacit is a five letter word. No one in their right mind could consider it long. And I'd expect it to be known by most English speakers and used by many. There is a difference between using inappropriate words and dumbing down. Especially when communicating with trainee teachers, or whoever it was.

inchoate means incomplete - it has a technical meaning in law ( inchoate offences ) right ?
and at the very very end right
the presenter realises that in teaching kidz right one might use a different set of words than one would when talking to other teachers right about teaching.
which kinda get us right to the point that in certain circumstances groups of people use a specialised sets of words which may be understood within the group right but not outside the group ( = jargon )
