Why is that with every new washing machine you are presented with more programmes than you can shake a stick at yet still only use two of the myriad offered?

Don't say a word but I reckon the desgners are men and think only women use them, so a programme for wool will please her, ooh, we need one for silk etc etc etc

ooh, now, that's a very, very good point. :-)

Don't know how many I've washed over the years, now all trousers and anything with a pocket are turned upside down and given a vicious shake after I've checked the pockets,
Especially after I've found a few of Mr Alba's screwbits in the seal.

I think that washing machines are designed to suit customers who might have different washing requirements, hence the wide selection of programmes. Designing one machine that will do a hundred kinds of washing is cheaper than designing a hundred different machines.
