Should have realised, even the foot guards are different, there they even have a Lance Sergeants.

all competed, to a greater, or lesser degree, in 'outside' sporting activities whilst serving in the forces. The link between physical fitness and military service is obvious......the link between prestidigitation and military service is less so....

Wouldn't dare say AOG.
Prudie, I wasn’t talking about the sport but the Kudos. There is a difference between using sport for fitness and team building and taking enough time out of one’s paid job to compete at a high level.
I have no idea about the person in question but retraining before heading back into civvy street is perfectly normal. My favourite was a Major Plumb who retrained as a plumber!
