MIGRANTS MOAN FOOD IS TOO SPICY
Migrants awaiting deportation in a removal centre are forcing caterers to plan a range of menus as they argue over the spiciness of the food.
Those waiting at the Brook House Immigration Removal Centre at Gatwick Airport are from countries including Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq and Albania.
A report by the Independent Monitoring Board released last week raised the problem of spicy food at the G4S-run centre.
It states: 'There may be some sixty nationalities to please. Size of food portions, dishes under-spiced or over-spiced, sometimes the cooking itself, are all subjects for complaint.'
Among the entries include complaints that food was 'too hot' and 'too bland'.
A source said: 'There are many arguments over the food served up here, mainly over the use of chillies, pepper and other spices.'
The Home Office did not comment on the report.
