I remember when I was with AOL in the UK I stored my photos at AOL PICTURES. But back in 2008 they closed this free storage down. Before closing it they allowed their users to upload them to another company, providing a migration service. Can anyone remember the name of the company. I keep thinking it was something like PIXMANIA, but that is an electrical company. It was def something similar I am sure.

I have alredy read that article, but it wasn't that. Company. I wonder if AOL UK might have gone to a different company.
Perhaps your pictures have been hiding on AOL UK all of the time?

Otherwise you can find a list of all major English language image-hosting websites, both past and present, here:

The uk link is a dead one. But I have now found out it was a firm called Pixum.
Reading through the 2008 press release shows that AOL only teamed up with German-run Pixum for its European operations, which explains why Marval's (US) link didn't help:

Pixum isn't well-known in this country. (I used to own a website comparing different photo-hosting services and I'd never heard of it!)
