Grandmother Passing In November.

My dad and i aren't close but what bothers me is my two sisters just bought homes my question is I didn't think anything at the time really but a week after my grandmother passed away my mother phoned me asking me for my social.

However I'm unaware of any country in the world where a grandchild inherits anything from a deceased person's estate if they died intestate (i.e. without leaving a will) when the relevant parent of that grandchild is still alive.

I think you are wondering whether your sisters received money from your grandmother's will and this inheritance helped them buy new homes and whether you should have recived some too..
I'm not sure where the bit about your mother asking about your social security number and your current name fits in.
As others have said you need to know the laws in California regarding estates but as your mum is still alive presumably she had an entitlement greater than yours. It would help if you could see the will. Have you asked your mother?
