Power Splitter

I have a floppy drive, C, D, E and F drive too. Been having probs with my PC so disconnected the E & F drive. The Hard drive appears to work ok now. I have been told i would probably need a power splitter to connect back my other drives BUT, someone else has said it may blow my PSU! I'm not very techie, but any help on this matter would be grateful

A few things:

What are drives E and F? Are these CD drives? And are C and D partitions on your hard drive?

Second, what's your processor and graphics card? These can be found by right-clicking my computer and clicking properties. it'll tell you the processor and speed right there, and then click the 'device manager' button in one of the tabs to see waht your graphics card is.

And finally, what's your CPU power rating? there's perhaps an easier way, but just take off the side panel of your computer if you aren't sure what it is, and see what it says. it'll give a figure in Watts, like 350W.

I hope this is the info you need. It says that it is a AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500+.

The E & F drives were my previous c drives. One was 40 gig, had another put in at 80 gig, still wasn't enough so had this new one put in. I have backed up my work onto these drives so really need the info off them.

OK, well it sounds to me as though you could do with a more powerful PSU.

A 400W unit should be ok I'd have thought, many to choose from here:

They just depend on the type of fittings you have in your case (ATX etc.).
