faulty cd player

sometimes when i try and play a cd not starting from the beggining it doesnt work and just goes as if you've pressed stop. was just wondering if anyone knew what was the matter, whether my cd player needs cleaning or something. P.s it happens to new cds too, so its nothing to do with the cd!!

does it sometimes take quite a while to read the cd/see that its there? If so your tracking could be broke, I had the same problem about 6 months ago and I kept cleaning it as much as possible but the damn thing would get better!

yeh , sometimes it takes quite a while too read, and sometimes it never does read it, it just gives up. how did u solve your problem before?
