Malaga airport taxis
Flying to Malaga airport on Saturday and need to get to La Cala de Mijas by taxi. Is it best to pre-book a private transfer on one of the many websites, or just get a taxi from the rank outside the airport? There'll be 3 of us with 2 weeks worth of holiday luggage each. Looking at the Andalucia tourist site, it looks like a normal taxi would be 37 euros, but I'm not sure if that would include baggage. Does anyone have any recommendations please?

This queue can get pretty long during the peak travel times and it may be advisable to pre book private Malaga Transfers which are less hassle and sometimes cheaper."

If you follow the 'Malaga Transfers' link from that page you get to the Shuttle Direct site. I've just asked for a quote for 3 people, one way to Mijas Costa, on Saturday (with a theoretical flight arrival time of 1000). The figure quoted was 10.89 per person. This works out about 2 per person dearer than joining the taxi queue. That seems looks like good value to me.

Hi Yodel - link to the Malaga Airport taxi fares site: http://www.andalucia.com/travel/airports/malagataxi.htm gives Mijas fare as 28 - 32 euors. There ae 2 bands for the fares depending on time of day.
Have a look at the site for details and some more info on the area - loads of usful stuff plus a forum if you have any specific queries which could be answered directly from the region..
Would you not think of car hire though? It is a cost, but you would have so much flexibility for your hols. and could get to so many fab places - Ronda, Granada, Comares, maybe Gib. for the day...etc.Used these guys before and found them very good: http://www.dany-car.com/ or there a bunch of links off the andalucia.com site as well to try.
have a lovely time.....
