Violence by Russian hooligans was "well" planned. Lots of Lokomotiv Moscow thugs in black shirts, with "born for war" (in Russian of course therefore harldy prominent) written on the back, masked thugs in the stadium, who acted on a signal from a flare.
And all, unusually for those people, completely sober I would think.
That's the difference: England fans haf-arsed drunks whose idea of viplence is to chuck a few bottled v people with a blood lust.

//A top football official in Moscow has praised the Russian fans involved in violence over the weekend in Marseille, saying they had defended their country’s honour and should be forgiven.
“I don’t see anything wrong with the fans fighting,” Igor Lebedev wrote on Twitter. “Quite the opposite, well done lads, keep it up!”//
Part of the link I have provided. Now the gainsayers may bite their tongues.

Yes Togo can you imagine the outcry there'd be here if an English MP tweeted support for English hooligans. The fact is that the violent and paranoid ultra nationalism you see vented by Russian gangs is inspired by and an extension of a national mentality egged on by government and othrrvriemwnts in their society such as media. The nearest thing I could equate it to is Nazi Germany in the 30s. You'll of course hear false expressions of disapproval from their sports minister etc (who initially denied there had been any trouble) but that is more likely to be fear at losing the World Cup. A fear I hope will be realised.
Russia handed a suspended disqualification.
