I have just downloaded a load of songs from Napster but when I tried to burn them onto a CD it showed a screen which wanted me to confirm that I was going to pay for them. I didnt realise that you could download them for free but you had to pay to burn them onto a CD.

Is this the case or am I doing something wrong??

I know what you mean, you can download them but you have to pay to burn them onto a CD, I fell into that trap, however it makes it easier to keep a library that you can use when you want to, there are websites that are free but they are illegal, am I being too conventional!
I presume the files you downloaded are in .mp3 format. What are you using to burn the CD? You could experiment with other audio programs, some are not at all fussy what they burn.
nero it is not free but u find away if you dont want to pay for it lol

I just think that if I pay the 14.95 per month charge then why should I have to pay 79p for each song when I want to put it on a CD? You dont have to do this with I-Tunes but I havent got an I-pod!
