Take a poncho, plenty of tissues and go to the loo whether you need it or not before taking your seat! Also, check and double check the dates on your tickets we discovered at 2pm, here in Norfolk, that our tickets were not for next Friday but for the current day! Enjoy, it's fabulous and the seating been improved, less danger of DVT, never been so glad to stand for the National Anthem as we were in the old seats.
Need a hotel well outside, recommend somewhere near the Gyle centre because festival is on too and prices extortinate, Ibis I think we stayed for £80 approx

If you are driving, it's worth looking on the other side of the bridge for a hotel, as has been said prices are extortionate, even a long way out of Edinburgh. You can then drive to somewhere like Ocean Terminal, park for free and take the bus into the city, the night buses run late and frequently.
