I already used your very own quote above as introduction to my earlier response to this thread.
There doubtless ARE some Scots who hate England, just as there are some Scots who hate football, but you refer to "THE Scots", which is not at all the same thing as "SOME Scots". "The Scots" can refer only to all people with that nationality. I myself - a Scot - have lived in England for the past thirty years...my wife is English, most of my current friends are English and I like England (obviously!)
So, there you go..."the Scots hatred of England" is one gigantic untruth!

So, you don't accept that the two-word phrase, "the Scots" refers to ALL people who are Scottish? In other words, you feel free to make words or phrases mean whatever YOU want them to mean, regardless of what they truly mean linguistically or in common understanding!
In that case, you can obviously "win" any argument or discussion...but only inside your own head. In reality, therefore, you seem to live in a world of your own.
How many Scots do you KNOW? How many have you ever personally actually MET...dozens, hundreds, thousands? Are you aware that the population of Scotland is just under six million?
You clearly know NOTHING about "the Scots"!

"the Scots" - you assume the absence of a prefix implies every single one of them, it does not, it's a general term as a nation. It's like if I said "the French love snails" - it means that generally the French love snails, it does not mean that very single French person loves snails. Thus I accept that there are undoubtedly some Scots who don't dislike the English but generally in my opinion overall they do. I have been there many times and know quite a few socially.
You "know quite a few", eh? Would you say the number of Jocks you know is on a par with the number of French who love snails?
"Quite a few" English football-fans are violent hooligans - as we've recently seen yet again - but is that a reason to say, "The English football fans are violent hoolgans"?
Try answering my earlier point that there is more evidence of English ABers showing dislike of Scots and Scotland than there is of Scottish ABers showing dislike of English people and England.
How about providing links to, say, three AnswerBank instances of Scottish hatred of England? Should be easy for you, given that you do keep on making the same absurd claim.

"Try answering my earlier point that there is more evidence of English ABers showing dislike of Scots and Scotland than there is of Scottish ABers showing dislike of English people and England. " - yes I agree, the hated tend to hate back.
I'm not going to trawl AB for you but I accept your word that you love us and any anti English behavior I encounter in the future I will consider an anomoly.
