Celebrity Endorsements

Would you be more likely to purchase a product that came with a celebrity endorsement , than one that did not have such an endorsement ?.

For example there is an ad on here with Mr Beckham , selling male cosmetics products

No, I wouldn't. I also categorically won't buy any perfume/product produced by a famous singer/footballer feeling that they earn enough already from their chosen career and why should I put more money in their bank account.

Delia Smith spent years endorsing everything from Sainsbury's. In reality she lives about 15 miles from any branch of Sainsbury's and shops in my local Tesco.

Apparently whenever Delia Smith used a particular utensil on her cooking program , sales of that particular item increased numerous fold, in the shops

I think most advertisers waste their money - how many on here say they record prgrammes just so they can whizz through the ads ?

I ignore adverts. - especially if there is a 'celebrity' earning dosh for promoting it.

My rule is 'Never buy brand names'
Never buy anything that is advertised.
If a product is good enough it will sell by word of mouth and recommendation, it will not need advertising.
With clothes (apart from underwear) I have not bought from anything other than charity shops for at least 25 years.
