Good Morning Early Birds!
Saturday. The solstice walk went very well. I don't know the number of walkers, but there were a lot, some on four legs. I think they had the best fun! :o} A couple of bits of drizzle didn't dampen anyone's spirits. At one stage, by my marshalling point, A whole herd of cattle, about 60 or so of them, that roam the common freely, and have right of way, decided to walk along the road,. the traffic chaos tool a lot of sorting out when they decided to move onto the grass. Great fun! :o}
After the last walkers had passed me and I could stand down, I put the sings in the boot of the car and drove back to the hospice. I used my vouchers, that every volunteer were given, to get a burger and a a pint. Since my companion marshal left early, when her husband who had been walking, went home when he stopped to pick her up, I had two vouchers. :o} I stayed to help clear up and dismantle all the gazebos etc. I got home after midnight after a most enjoyable evening.
Tiggy was tapping his wee foot with arms crossed and looking at me as if to say, 'dirty stop out. where's my supper.' So I gave him his supper and went to bed. A relly good evening.
The sky is a lot clearer this morning.
