I seem in my bleary eyed state to have awarded a best answer.

I'm going home now. It appears to be a severe case of costochondritis which I have anyways it's just moved. Home plenty pain relief and rest.

There was a nice nurse but I think he batted for the other team though. I'll report back in the morning. I'm away home in the car to get to my bed.
