30% levels of consciousness lowered, displaying feelings of restlessness and anxiety, cyanosis (blueness of lips and skin) also cold and clammy to the touch, pulse over 100 bpm and hard to detect, breathing rapid
40% Unresponsive (unconscious), severe cyanosis with cold clammy skin, undetectable pulse, breathing deep sighing (air hunger).
Blood loss of 30% is considered critical and anyone losing over 10% should be treated for shock.
As a rule of thumb we have one pint of blood for every stone in body weight. I weigh 11 stone, so for myself, losing 3 pints is approaching critical.
