He had managed to burn her in two places and shake her causing brain damage during two occasions he had her alone as a tiny baby. On appeal after he had been found guilty - this was overturned as they couldn't rule out the causes being not him!!!!

GRASSCARP the appeal was won not because of any uncertainty. In the Serious Case Review, it says the Local Authority had been instructed to issue a letter to all those agencies involved with the family saying "[The Judge]...was satisfied there was an innocent explanation for his child's suspected injuries"
