Apparently, Finisterre has been renamed Fitzroy, in the shipping forecast.
Question Author
Not by the Spanish, I'd say.
Wiki
Finisterre was renamed FitzRoy in 2002, to avoid confusion with the (smaller) sea area of the same name used in the marine forecasts produced by the French and Spanish meteorological offices.

So, you are right, obviously not used by the Spanish.
Wonder if Sandy would like some company on his trip?..... :-)
:-) That sounds like a plan.
Shoota would gate crash Gness
Have a lovely time and renew yourself, Sandy. Our French house is about 400 from from the Compostela Pilgrim route and we walked that part every day with the dogs. Think we were North of where you are starting. (L'Isle Jourdain?) Well done you. ☺
^^^ The neighbour across the road, Marcel, has keys if anyone starts from L'Isle and you are welcome to bed down.

You must be on the Vezelay trail, Jourdain2. Starting from there would double the distance. I'd not be back by Christmas.
Gness, instead of going directly from Dublin I could make a detour via Stanstead. Got your rucksack ready and boots polished?
