For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Assuming you mean the Internet Spam - briefly it is an unsolicited message which is sent out simultaniously to hundreds of thousands of e-mail addresses. The messages are often 'get rich quick' or similar scams, and the senders work on the principle that if 1% of respondents reply, that's a good result.
There are various 'anti-spam' sites you can use, but it's almost impossible to cut them out totally - best to delete them. Do not reply, because then they knopw that your address is 'live' and the spam floodgates open!
It's called 'spam' after the famous Monty Python sketch in the restaurant where every meal contains spam, and the Viking chorus (sorry, if you are under thirty this probably makes no sense at all!) sing "Spam soam spam ..." until made to shut up.
