Not sure if this should be asked here or on the TV page, anyway, here goes...

1. Does anyone agree with me that selecting a fish starter which is then immediately followed by a fish course is totally wrong?

2. I think that each judge should vote in secret and not be influenced by what the others say.

THANKS EVERYONE.

yes, Osprey , I agree that if you are having a fish course you shouldn't have fish as a starter. I can't see how people can be expected to vote course by course if they don't know what the other courses are going to be. It could end up being a very unbalanced menu. I imagine the 'powers that be' will rig the results so the Queen gets a decent meal.

The judging part doesn't worry me too much. Their comments are interesting ( not that I always agree) and they don't sem to worry about what marks the others give.

The whole thing has become a farce.

There is masses of debate (?) here:

on the subject who won last night? but no i don't think you should have fish as a starter if your having a fish course, but merely my humble opinion
I love fish so fish course as starter then fish as main course would be excellent. How many times do you see meat course as starter and then meat as main course? Eat what you like and don't be put off by snobby chefs etc.
