varying signal strengths

I have recently resited my pc to the rear of the house. I have used a Netgear wireless router, which sits alongside the modem ( in the original pc position ), and a Linksys wireless adaptor, which sits on the pc desk.

I find that the signal strength varies enormously, from "very good", to being "very low" ( sometimes there is no connection ). Is there something I can do to ensure that the signal strength stays permanently good ?

Any advice will be most welcome.

Just try and keep walls to a minimum between the sender and receiver, and keep the two as close to eachother as possible also.

If nothing else improves, can you move your wireless router too?

We have a Belkin router that has to reach the loft and in the cellar. The router itself is in the living room. Some days are good some days aren't. We find moving the router about tends to solve a really low connection. Still not ideal though.

You can buy signal boosters which help your signal. But why can you not move the router? or just simply not bother with wireless if it is a PC?
