I often print the label for my letters, packets & small parcels to save time queuing at the post office. For the last two days, the small parcel prices are shown at the price before the increase on 29th March 2016. I do hope the peeps I am sending them to do not incur a surcharge!! Well done Royal Mail...you have saved me some money!!

Is it just the parcels? I have sent a few letters/cards since the increase and never took any notice of the price. Not had anyone saying they had to pay extra.

all the other prices are correct on their page but last night & tonight I have printed the postage label for a small parcels & realised the price was pre 29th March 2016 increase prices. I still have the list of the old prices & compared them tonight. Rush along there if you have any small parcels to send. Don't know whether it is for medium parcel rates too...will go & have a peep
Thanks, not got any parcels to send, but had sent large letters, 2 were to the Tax Office, really did not want them to be held up.
Question Author
Just been to have a look. The medium parcel rate is wrong too. It shows it right on the home page of printing postage but if you click on "send a one-off letter or parcel" it is showing the old rates. Sure they will correct it very soon

There is a discount for printing your own postage label rather than going to the post office or buying stamps, so the price is correct. You get the same discount if you print the postage from the eBay site for items you sell on eBay. Much easier, you just drop them off at the post office no need to wait in the queue.

Never happened before I can assure you Eddie. If you click on the"send a one-off letter or package" on the link I provided, it goes through at the old pricing but I you go down further on that link & click on"small parcel" it charges at the new rate. I am not registered on there for any discount. I believe if you register & then send regular items, you do get a discount
If you print your own postage on the eBay site you get the £2.85 small parcel rate for £2.80, so 5p off. Similar discounts for other rates.
^ sorry £2.85 instead of £2.90 for a small packet
This discount is to ALL online postage not just ebay

Question Author
But a small parcel rate is £2.85 up to 2 kilos if you go to the Post Office, not £2.90
Yes see my last post I got confused, it is £2.90 at the post office but £2.85 through eBay. Bigger discounts for larger heavier more valuable items.
Question Author
I'm still confused. If I click on send a one off letter or package, it's at the cheaper rate BUT if you click further down on the link I provided previously it's dearer. Doesn't make sense to me. I printed off a small parcel rate label only two weeks ago & it was the same rate that the post office would charge if I went & queued up but now, as I said before, the small & medium parcel rates are pre March 2016 prices.
