I have quite a lot of plants in pots about the garden, they kook lovely ,even though I say it myself. On Sunday we are going to Majorca for two weeks and I have absolutely nobody I can ask to keep them watered ,as it looks as though it is going to warm up and be sunny. We live on the North East coast. if I was to put them in a shady area of the garden that does not get too much sun and give them a good watering before I go ,do you think they might survive ?
Best you can do, Cats....is close together in the shade.....stand on big "saucers" which you fill before you leave after giving pots a good water.
You could try the capillary method.......strips of cloth to form a wick in a huge bucket of water with the other end tucked into the soil in the pots?.....x
I have seen that too.....and you also can buy....quite cheaply....things to replace the cap on the bottle so it leaks water without the holes clogging....
If there is space in the pot to plonk the bottle it's a good idea too......x
This will certainly solve your watering issue ... I was handed a brand new one, still in the box about a month ago. My first thought was 'Another cheap solar powered bit of tat' .. then I looked the price up using Google and thought 'Perhaps not'.
