Now living alone I bake far less than I did and only savoury pies - I buy the pastry mix in a bag, that way I can make up just what I need and keep the rest in an airtight jar.

I buy whatever I spy on the shelf really, haven't found much difference I do add a little seasoning to it though.

The above is for short crust don't use puff much at all.

Thanks Mamy - I have never seen that pastry mix in a bag - only like frozen blocks. Where should I look for yours.

PS - have taken a notion for steak and guinness pie. Jamie's recipe sounds good altho I would give the cheese a miss. Maybe just add a tiny bit.
Jus-rol is supposed to be good.

Margo - I have tried that - didn't like it.

Think M&S all butter pastry may be good - will look for it tonight.
Bagged pastry mixes are usually in with the flour etc in the baking aisle.

thanks for that Mamy - will look there next time.
Ok JJ - I just find it useful (short crust) that way for economy.
We use Jus-Rol, we get on fine with it.
