When I connect to the internet I am unable to view internet or email. When I check the connection I am connecting at say 52,000 bps but only sending/receiving less than 500 bytes, hence why I am unable to display anything. (I am sending this from another PC). I have tried changing the connection cables, different telephone sockets, ran a modem check (ok) and reinstalled the modem. Any ideas? (Operating System Win98, CPU AMD600 686 mhz)

it sounds as if the connection you have made is not coinciding with the internet programme that you're browsing through - check that your IP/TCP connection is dialling up the same telephone number as your ISP.
