Went to Pizza Hut last night for granddaughters birthday. I didn't manage to eat all my pizza and garlic bread so they put it in a takeaway box for me to bring home. Problem is, I don't like cold pizza and wondered if it would be safe to warm in the oven and if so, what number and for how long? There is chicken, mushroom and onion on it.Thanks.
If you want a serious answer then I would suggest no for the simple reason that it contains chicken. It is very dangerous to reheat chicken, especially when it has been cooked in a commercial environment. I would reheat a pizza as long as it contained no meat products. One of my teenagers ended up in A&E on a drip because he ate warmed up chicken wings from the night before on a camping trip.
Islay -how do you know 'millions' of homes reheat their roast chicken? I prefer to be cautious around chicken and the reheating of it. Hundreds of thousands (go check it) get Campylobacter every year mostly from chicken
'Campylobacter is considered to be responsible for more than 280,000 cases of food poisoning each year. There are more than 72,000 laboratory confirmed cases of campylobacter poisoning ( also known as campylobacteriosis) and a high proportion of these will be dueto food.
I often re-heat food by putting it on a plate and covering with foil ensuring the foil tucks under the rim of the plate, the place in a re-heated oven 220c (Gas 8) for ten minutes by which time it will be piping hot.
Thanks for all your answers. I did keep it in the fridge overnight, but just to be on the safe side, I'll take the chicken off it and cook as dannyk has suggested.x
