Cervical Sondylosis

Was diagnosed with this about 10 years ago but it went away without me even realising it.
But in the past few weeks, it's returned and ive been waking up at 3 or 4 am with the mother of stiff necks and headache.
Ive found it's worse when I lie on my right side.....last night I laid on my left and ive woken pain free. However it's not easy to pick a side and lie on it all night. I've tried different pillows to no avail.
Anyone suffer and have any tips on relieving the symptoms? I'm not worried about the neckache too much, it's the headache all down the back of my head that I don't need
Thanks

I knew someone who suffered from it, and he had had the manipulation under anaesthetic, which did not result in noticeable improvement. He was warned that if he did not have the operation to sort out the nerve concerned, he might well lose the use of one or both legs, and end up in a wheelchair. He had the operation, and is now fully mobile and well, but with slightly restricted neck movement.
