Small Statuette That Looks Like A Buddha.
28 Answers
In one hand prayer beads, in the other a bag which looks it's meant to represent money. The figure is smiling but the Buddha would have been the first to say that money doesn't buy happiness.
Who might it be?

The bag does not represent money it represents gifts of food (rice) sweets for children, sometimes the woes of the world

Pilgrimages are all the rage, perhaps less of the Christianity though;

I've walked the first 100km, to Estella/Lizarra twice and the last 100km from Sarria to Santiago once. If I've learnt any lesson it's to take it easy. 30 days would be good going but I'm thinking 5 or 6 weeks. I hope to go on to Finnisterre and if the seas not too cold have a paddle on the beach. I don't think the supposed tradition of a skinny dip to mark the end of the walk is for me. Another tradition, burning your pilgrim clothes on the beach, has been banned by the local junta.
