I have been given a very old TV which apparently has a very good picture - its a Toshiba LCD colour - model 27WL56P. I did borrow a digi box and managed to get some menu or other up on the screen but couldn't tune it in because I'm really thick when it comes to technology.
Opinions please as to whether or not the best option is a new tv with everything already installed or a middle of the range digi box with recording facilities and the old TV - I suppose it could go pear shaped at any time.
Thank you

Ivor and CaC thank you - being a technophobe I wanted corroboration of what I'd 90% decided. Appreciate the input - stay well
Go the other 10% of your decision and get a new TV. The one you have been given is over 10 years old.

Hello Hans - thank you - have decided to go that route.
Did you really need the recording facilities ? Basic freeview boxes are cheap enough in the supermarkets these days. Would see your old free TV out.

OG - yes I do need recording facilities - there are very few programmes I really like but they are broadcast when it's inconvenient for me to watch but thanks for the input - stay well
