Renewing The Present Page
Is there any way to be able to view a page in a forum such as this and have it automatically renew whenever there is a new post. I use the crossword forum and would find it handy whilst working on one question to have the page renew.

Donny, you could open another tab and use that which would allow you to switch between tabs.

It is an issue, donny- it is frustrating to type a long answer and then find 3 other people have all parsed it much better a few seconds before me. Sometimes I stop partway through, copy it onto my clipboard and then refresh to see if any more have come in. Perhaps you could have a second tab open and keep refreshing that while you type in yours. The reason some answers are fully posted before we've even finished reading the clues is some people have done the crossword already and can either remember or can just copy their own answers from the paper in front of them. The causal helpers aren't really needed as a few posters provide such a good service that seems to cover all daylight hours
Often they can- but I think donny, like me is talking about those where 5 clues are posted, sometimes even without letter counts or any letters shown, and sometimes without the correct clue, and some are still able to provide instant answers. It's just an observation and an explanation for donny. That's what AB is for - getting answers quickly
What I meant was something that would renew the page whilst I was doing some thing else such as reading. I must admit I had never considered the latest posts section until it was pointed out to me and it will in fact do what I want, it will alert me to a new post. A case of something so familiar under your nose that you fail to see it.

Yes, you can do this. First of all, you'll have to change your web browser to Firefox. Then you'll need to click on the three small horizontal lines at the extreme right of the toolbar ( Some people call this the "hamburger" symbol")
The window that opens will give you the option to search for "Add-Ons". In the search box, type "ReloadEvery" (watch the capitals) and download it. It's a safe add-on I've used for years. Open the add-on icon and there you will find the option to reload the page you're looking at as often as every second to up to at least a full minute. It reloads the window for you automatically without your intervention.
It's really great for doing crosswords on AB and I wouldn't be without it.
There may be similar add-ons for Chrome etc, but I'm not familiar with them as I tend to confine myself to Firefox these days.
