How Much Would A Boarding Kennel Charge Per Week To Look After A Small Dog?

I ask because a neighbour who sometimes walks her dog with me in the evenings would be a better carer for my dog than my niece, who has already agreed to mind it, because she's out at work all day.
If I knew boarding kennel charges I could judge what to offer her.

People who board dogs in their homes usually charge around £10-15 per day
Boarding kennels have overheads, wages, insurances and profits to cover.

If you provide the food and everything your dog needs in the neighbours home, and if the neighbour has offered rather than been asked, then I suggest a gift now, and again at Christmas rather than a payment.

Thank you both.
I'll be asking her the next time I see her and I wouldn't mind paying. To ask her to mind a wee dog for a long time might seem a bit of an imposition otherwise.
As Jake says...about £10 a day. Feeds, fuss and walks...£10 is quite cheap.

It does. And my dog gets on with the woman and her dog. So if she agrees it's a good result all round
We are fortunate to have a good one locally at £8 a day
Is your dog going to be going to her house, Sandy? Just make sure that her dog will happily let your dog in.

Walking together is quite different from allowing another dog into the house.
and just a point here Sandy - if/when your dog goes to stay, make sure you get another disc engraved with her contact details and notify you microchip company of the temporary change.
I've done fostering and pet caring and insist on this.
Hope it works out for you and am sure your dog will be happier with her.

Tilly, the lady's dog is used to house guests, but you make a good point.
RSVP, I'll do that.
Good advice. Thank you all

I should have said canine house guests ^^^
Question Author
Jenny, a neighbour who has cats recommended that very same place to me.
but, Sandy - if I had the chance between kennels and the personal touch ie your lady friend - would go for the personal touch any time.

I would go for the Ladies personal touch every time tbh.
Baldric behave!

Not this one, Baldric, unless you were into elderly ladies with blue rinses. :-)

I was thinking of her Dog sitting skills, honest Guv!
Oh how the policeman chuckled as they snapped on the handcuffs :-)
