This link may be of some use. Just a few queries. Have you upgraded to w10 and lost a previous method that you were using? Does the camera have a cd disc with the original bumff. Finally I take it that it is a digital camera. It may be worth you posting the camera make and model no.

I connect to my laptop using an app called Airdroid.
Install the app on your phone (it's free) and on your laptop go to http:// web.air droid.c om/
On your phone, click on the icon that looks like a QR code and your camera will turn on, so that you can scan the QR code on the laptop. That's it, you're connected with no cable and no need to create an account.
Select the photos from the DCIM folder and click download .... no need for cables :)
