Any case is sent to the Crown Court from the local magistrates court and records for these courts are sent to the County Record Office after a certain number of years and indexed but they may also be closed to public searches, ask at the local magistrates court or check on line the rules.
certainly the local paper is your best starting point, where did they live exactly?
