Other windows background programs

There is lots of discussion about loadqm but what are the other programs that load up and is it safe to dissable them to free up resources? Other porgrams I have are rnaapp, Lvcomms and stimon (still image thing). I have already stopped loadqm using msconfig.

Sorry, I don't have an answer but I do have the same question. I have so many programs " in MS Config" but I don't know what the mean. I just found out that you can disable 'loadqm.exe' without any problems. But many of the other programs?? mvlas (The Netherlands)

I have disables LoadQM too and it has made IE6, Outlook6 and MSN more stable. Infact Windows 98 hasn't crashed since I dissabled a couple of things I didn't want loading!
