Am I the only person who finds this one of the most boring programmes? I was determined to give it a go as so many people rave about it..then dragons were mentioned. Merest mention of dragons, fairies, pixies, etc., has me switching for the off button.

Having read all the books so far printed, i just had to watch the series from the beginning. It is full of twists and turns, plots and sub-plots, very well scripted and very well acted. And, for many, it will be a sad day when it all ends after two more seasons.
I suppose it's because it is fantasy, it's a whole genre which I really don't like.
My other half is watching episode 3 of series six right now, he gets totally immersed in it. He's even said he's going to start from the beginning again at some point, maybe I'll give it another go then if he does, see if I can force myself to watch it.

Absolutely love it - the fantasy part is, for me, a huge attraction as I've always loved dragons, witches and weirds - not to mention some not altogether unattractive gentlemen being terribly manly with swords, displaying occasional acts chivalry and stoically enduring periods of great adversity (but I like westerns too - anyone who can ride a horse really well I'm a sucker for - sad or what?) - and as for Peter Dinklage - he's just fabulous.
