Debit Card

This should probably be in Finance but here goes.

I recently got a new debit card about 3-4 weeks ago as I had lost/mislaid the last one.

Three times I have tried to purchase an item on Amazon and 3 times the card has been declined. Another personal order was also declined.

I went back to Santander and the guy contacted the powers that be and said "right there is no problem nor block with this card".

What can I do next. Do know have to go back to Santander but what can be done. I myself think that perhaps they should issue me with another new card. Thanks for any ideas.

Are you sure your putting in the correct security code / card expiry date?
All the above suggestions are good. However if you did put in the right details the guy at Santander should have been able to look up your account and see if transactions had been declined. Did you ask him that?
As said unless you have registered the new card details with Amazon they are going to think someone is trying to use a cancelled or lost card.

everything is very much up to scratch. I double-check and double-check.

There were a few old debit cards on the Amazon account with a "dot" beside it and then underneath them all there was sorta please enter your new debit card details and the order goes through. yes, know all about issue numbers at back of card too. Don't understand the other big order from a personal nature also being declined.

Received an email from the personal order saying "your card is "blocking the payment blah blah".

Was down at Santander think last Monday or Tuesday and the guy rang England and said definitely there was no block but yet since that I have tried to order 3 times. Will have to go back again on Monday

Tony will try your link tomorrow as i don't have proper reading glasses on. Thanks all
Did you activate the card?

Have you tried a debit payment in a shop? Perhaps try that and see if it goes through.
The only other reason I can think of is that the order takes you over your account limit, not that I'm saying that this is the case here.
