I've been following this on the Clapham Chronicle website.
Chief Superintent Alex Furquaad gave the following reasons for the actions:
1. Because the revellers were all related to MPs and the police were worried about having their funding curtailed?
2. Because revellers had resorted to playing Muse's latest album and the control centre deemed it too dangerous to expose officers to that level of abuse.
3. It was coming up to dinner time.
